AT are surely the most universally hated local government body in NZ. Hands down. For sure.
Repulsive thieving assholes think that they can steal a car that has an Exemption From Continuous Licensing.
It wasn’t abandoned. I told Constable Stratton that it wasn’t abandoned or being used. It wasn’t parked illegally, he admitted that on the phone.
That’s the whole point of an Exemption From Continuous Licensing. That you, the owner, are making that point: this car is not abandoned, stolen, or being used. For approximately 12 months.
And I, the owner, don’t have to pay anyone (other than the application fee to NZTA) anything for my car to sit here, doing nothing. Causing no trouble. Doing nothing unlawful.
These toxic revenue obsessed thieving assholes at AT are claiming that my car was being “used.”
Why? Because it was parked on an Auckland street.
It wasn’t being operated. It wasn’t being driven. It wasn’t being moved anywhere. For close to three months.
So it wasn’t being “used.” It was stationary on that street for months.
I had removed the number plates when I parked it on that suburban street. Back in March. As instructed.
I wasn’t playing games. I wasn’t taking the piss.
This guy at AT named Kyle said it has to be parked “off-road.” So a garage, or .. what? Parked on someone’s back lawn I guess. Which no-one, no-one, communicated to me.
I don’t have a garage. As AT are well aware. But there are a lot of suburban streets.
AT say they took reasonable steps to contact me. They didn’t. They sent letters to an old address. Where I don’t live. They didn’t call me or email me, at all. Not once.
The disgusting losers definitely did not take reasonable, sensible, professional, grown-up, normal adult, steps to communicate with me before stealing my car.
